We buy in China for you, from Shenzhen

Send us a 1688, Taobao or Alibaba link. We buy it in RMB, receive it at our Shenzhen warehouse, check it, consolidate it with your other orders and ship it to you. You need no Chinese account, no Chinese payment method and no Chinese address.

Short answer

What does MeliPrep actually do?

MeliPrep is the buying service of 深圳市暖海科技有限公司 (Shenzhen Nuanhai Technology Co., Ltd.), based in Shenzhen. It works like this: the customer sends a product link from 1688, Taobao or Alibaba; MeliPrep buys it in RMB from its account in China; the seller ships it to the company's Shenzhen warehouse rather than to the customer's address; there it is checked, photographed and consolidated with the customer's other orders; and finally it is shipped to Mexico, Argentina or elsewhere in Latin America on whichever route the customer chooses. The customer needs no 1688 account, no Chinese payment method and no Chinese address. Commission is 5% to 8% of the goods value and freight is billed at cost.

Why Shenzhen

Where the factory is, not where the middleman is

Shenzhen produces a disproportionate share of the world's consumer electronics. It is home to Huawei, DJI, BYD and Anker, and to Huaqiangbei, the largest electronics components market on the planet. If your product contains a battery, a chip, an LED or an injection-moulded shell, the factory that makes it is probably less than an hour from our office.

That proximity changes things in practice. We can visit the plant before you pay, stand on the line during a problematic production run, and re-inspect within 24 hours if something goes wrong. An agent 1,500 kilometres away can only ask for photos.

Then there is the way out: the ports of Yantian and Shekou and Bao'an airport concentrate frequent, competitively priced routes to Latin America, with the Hong Kong border half an hour away.

Local agent, trading company, or buying it yourself

All three work. The difference is who carries the risk when something goes wrong.

Process

Six steps, from link to your warehouse

You send the link and pay twice: the goods first, the freight once the real weight is known. Everything else is on us.

  1. 01

    You send the link

A 1688, Taobao or Alibaba link, a photo, or a list with quantities and variants.

  2. 02

    We quote it itemised

Product price, our commission, the services you want and a freight estimate, each on its own line.

  3. 03

    You pay, we buy

We pay in RMB from our account in China, always into the seller company's account.

  4. 04

    We receive in Shenzhen

The seller ships to our warehouse, not to your home. That is why you need no Chinese account or address.

  5. 05

    We check and consolidate

We verify reference and quantity, photograph, remove factory labelling and merge all your orders into one shipment.

  6. 06

    You choose the route

We give you the options with their transit time and real carrier cost. You choose, pay the freight and it ships.

Frequently asked questions about sourcing from China

The questions we get most often from first-time importers.

What does a China sourcing agent actually do?

A China sourcing agent acts as your local procurement department: it identifies and verifies factories, negotiates the price in RMB, places and pays for the order, inspects the goods before they leave the country, consolidates them with other orders and arranges the international freight. You receive one shipment, one freight invoice and one inspection report instead of coordinating ten suppliers in a language you do not speak.

How much does a China sourcing agent charge?

The market standard is 3% to 10% of the order value, depending on monthly volume and product complexity. MeliPrep works in a 5% to 8% band on the value of the goods, plus international freight quoted separately by weight and volume. We do not mark up the unit price: you receive the factory invoice exactly as we receive it.

Why use an agent based in Shenzhen rather than Yiwu or Ningbo?

Shenzhen is the world's hardware and consumer-electronics capital. It is home to the Huaqiangbei electronics market, the densest concentration of factories for phone accessories, audio, LED lighting, batteries and connected devices, and the ports of Yantian and Shekou. If your product contains a chip, a battery or an LED, Shenzhen is where the suppliers are and where the factory can be visited the same day. For textiles, ceramics or seasonal goods, Yiwu-based agents often have the advantage.

How do I avoid getting scammed when importing from China?

Three controls remove most of the risk: verifying that the supplier is a real factory rather than a reseller, never releasing the balance payment before an on-site inspection, and always paying inside China to an account in the supplier company's name. MeliPrep does all three by default: we check the licence and the plant, we inspect to AQL before the balance is released, and we never advance money to personal accounts.

How long does an order take from China to my warehouse?

It depends on the product and the route. An in-stock order usually leaves the factory in 5 to 10 days; made-to-order production takes 20 to 45 days. Transit adds roughly 7 to 15 days by air to Mexico and 25 to 40 days by sea, customs clearance included. In practice a complete order typically runs 45 to 75 days from payment to delivery.

What does DDP mean and what is included?

DDP stands for Delivered Duty Paid: the seller carries the freight, the import clearance and the duties until the goods reach the agreed destination. In practice, on a DDP shipment you pay a single rate and receive no further payment demands when the cargo lands. Clearance is always executed through a licensed customs broker in the destination country.

Is there a minimum order value?

No fixed minimum. A percentage commission stops being efficient below roughly USD 2,000 of goods, because the fixed cost of inspection and consolidation weighs more than the percentage; above that threshold the model works well. For smaller orders we can consolidate your cargo with another client and apply a flat minimum instead of the percentage.

Can I order a sample before committing to a large order?

Yes, and we recommend it. We order the sample from the supplier, receive it at our Shenzhen warehouse, send you photos and video with real measurements and weight, and forward it to your address. Sample and shipping costs are yours. Many clients approve the bulk order from that sample rather than risking the full capital.

Tell us what you need to buy

Send us a 1688 link, a photo or a sample of the product, plus your estimated volume. You get back a shortlist of vetted suppliers, a landed price to your warehouse and a realistic production lead time.
